  1. RISQUE STORIES No.6 - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size coquille board. It appears on the cover of a fanzine published by Robert Price.

(continued from 361) - My wife and I sat at our dining room table facing an IRS agent and his computer. "Time for the audit," he said, " Bring me all the documents you were instructed to have ready for me to examine for the years, 2008, 2009 and 2010. If I find a single irregularity in any of those years, I will also audit 2007. I will continue to audit preceding years back to 2004 as long as each year continues to show irregularities. I thought, "God, I'm a dead duck!"

My wife left the room and came back with a bunch of spiral bound notebooks, a big bag filled with documents and folders, stacks of receipts bound by rubber bands, and a large ledger. I looked at all that stuff and thought, "I'm going to have to take full responsibility for this". And for two whole days, the IRS agent, with diligent determination to find every penny we received, asked her questions about a thousand individual deposits and expenditures that we made, and asked to see hundreds of documents and receipts. My wife responded to each question and request by digging into her bag of papers, flipped through her notebooks, searched through stacks of receipts, and ran upstairs and downstairs in search of more papers and receipts. And during all that time the agent kept typing the information into his computer.

And as all those hours went by for over two whole days, I sat in amazement and relief as one by one, my wife answered every question and came up with every document and receipt the IRS agent asked for. At around 5 PM of the second day the questions stopped. The agent kept typing away at his keyboard for about ten minutes, then stopped. - I cautiously asked him, "so how are we doing?" - He turned the computer to face me, and in a casual manner said, "It looks like you are going to get a refund check." - GOD, I LOVE MY WIFE !!!
